2009 Pricing vs. End of Year 2008 Incentives
2009 Pricing vs. End of Year 2008 Incentives
I am looking at an 08 XLT with a window sticker of $27,300. I am on the fence deciding between the 2008 with "employee pricing" (dealer has not yet given me price with incentives) or ordering an 09. I can get X-Plan pricing on the 09 if I go that route. With the current incentives, can anyone tell me how much less the 08 savings would actually be? Thanks.
I can't tell you exactly how much it would be, but you could try building and pricing an 08 on Ford's website, make it exactly like you would order an 09, and add probably about $1000 to the price and get what the 09 would cost. Then you could calculate the financing and see how you come out.
Just a thought.
Of course, with the price of fuel Ford may bring the 09s out with incentives right off the bat. Who knows...

I can't say 08 or 09 as it's hard to say what the market will bear after the initial sales of the 09 F-150, but I'd wait on the 2008, The "employee pricing" is a real gimmick. The trucks cost more under it than they did last month with normal dealer discounts and rebates (we had $3000 plus $1000 Ford Credit, Plus $1000 owner loyalty plus $1000 memorial day clearance comared to only a total of $3000 this month (plus employee discount wich is worth about $1600 average). I think many consumers are smart enough to catch this and will wait for the rebates to return.
I say go with the '08 but wait a little longer for the real incentives when Ford starts blowing them off the lots to make room for the '09's. As was already said the Employee pricing isn't as good as the other incentives that usually follow, besides, you don't want the first year of a new design anyway.
It might be worth checking prices now. I can't say what's to come, or what prices are where you live (incentives vary by customer residence), but we got a $3000 owner loyalty rebate added here in the Kansas City region so that makes it employee discount minus $6000 which is pretty good (if you own a 99 or newer Ford).
Bought an 08
I ended up buying an 08 XLT regular cab that had a sticker of 27,900. They gave me the emplyee pricing deal plus an additional $6000 in rebates and my out the door price was $18750. I had to finance $7000 for a minimum of 90 days to get an additional FMCC rebate which I did, and I'll repay it in 90 days. I can't imagine them getting much cheaper than this. Most dealers did not have a regular cab XLT and I had to drive 230 miles to get it.

I've been shoping for a 08 reg cab xlt longbed and have looked at two.
1.) sticker $31.2K, with employee pricing + $3K customer cash + $1K ford credit cash they said I could have it for $24K, About $7200 off sticker
2.) sticker $31.8K, this dealer would only give me $2000 customer cash OR $1000 ford credit cash. BS Then they would give me Ford credit at 7.99%. I had a preapproved ford credit at 1.9%. Tomany shenanagans!

My Bottom Line
The MSRP on the truck that I bought was $27,900. After employee discount price dropped to $24,738.38. I got $3000 "Owner Loyalty" for owning another '99 or newer Ford vehicle, $2000 Customer Cash, and $1000 if I would borrow a minimum of $7001 for at least 90 days, which I took them up on. Add on a $58.48 Doc Fee and $10 for a drive-away paper plate, and I was out the door for $18,806.38 plus a free tank of gas. This was in Illinois in the St Louis area. Different parts of the country have different programs, and many salespeople aren't aware of the rebates until you tell them.
I haven't seen or heard about the Owner Loyalty incentive this year? I looked on the Ford website and didn't see it mentioned. How/where did you find about about the Owner Loyalty incentive.

Different regions have different rebates, etc.
Plug in a KC zip and get Owner Loyalty plus the standard current 3K . Plug in a Wyo zip and you get nada...except employee pricing.
Of course, all this might change come the 1st.

The Stealership would like you to wait 90 days as their financing "kick-back" is based on the fact that you keep the financing for 90 days.
This happened to me. My Stealership tried to tell me to keep it for 90 days. I told them I signed nothing which stated I had to in order to keep my Financing rebate. Plus many people in the Ford Dealership business from other Forums confirmed there was no 90 day requirement.
So... I paid my Ford Financing off in about 2 weeks... It lowered my interest rate approx. 3.5%, which is HUGE, and I still kept my Financing rebate.
Yep.. My Stealership either didn't know or didn't want to tell me that there was a X-Plan $500 rebate when I bought my new 05. I had to tell them and even give them the Ford Program Number for it. Again, I found out about it from another F-150 forum from a member who ran a "Smart Vincent" (what Ford calls it) based on my zip code (region). It spit out ALL the promotions and rebates currently available.
People, do you homework, don't get Screwed on your Screw at the Stealership!
