Not impressed w/ 2009 - yet ...

Not impressed at all yet, not like I was with the 'next generation' F150 models. In 04, I passed up a Ram for an FX4 scab. Never cared for the low rider gm's and still don't like em now. But in 04, liked the new F150 at first sight! Bought it same night. Noticed it lacked the Ram's power on test drive but was familiar with easy bolt on's like tuners/intakes so went for it. The 04 had issues with ring and pinion and drive shaft vib's so traded it for a fully loaded 05 Lariat. Still liked F150 out of all. My 05 had way too many issues, clutch packs, reflash for rough 1-2 upshift, drive shaft clunk, steering column clicking and more so traded yet again in 06. ( my buddy is a GM at local Ford dealer so I can get great deals so it is not a huge loss on trade in ) I really like this truck, still, it took $2000 in perf mod's to run with the stock 4x4 Ram's and Titans. Now Dodge has an upgraded interior, leather captain chairs and center console shift, the two big factors that kept me with this great Ford interior, among other improvements. And I like the exterior look better, of course grill and bumpers would have to match the paint - not a chrome guy here. First impression, new Ford look is a bit gaudy.. Based on what I see now, I would jump ship. And two of my buddies have Rams, 04 and 07, that have never seen a repair shop other than maintenance, so spare me the quality issues. One also tows a 26 foot boat each weekend. I've had my share of service issues with my 2 previous F150's but like I said, my 06 has been a great truck. ( yes, I am knocking on wood ) These are just my real life experiences, I'm sure you each have yours. And I am not brand loyal, I drive em all and buy what I like. Dodge has my vote so far, and how nice, my neighbor is the finance manager at our local Dodge dealer. I would imagine we will not be seeing on a Ford lot, a 380hp/400tq-N/A loaded 4x4 with 4:10 rear...... Could be wrong but I doubt it. We shall see in the coming months.

This is the best info I found for 2009 Dodge, anyone find similiar one with this much detail on the 09 F150 yet :

that includes the 350.00 wasted a crappy Edge tuner I had on the 05 that is now in a box on the garage shelf. I agree, yes, buying the Edge was a rip.

Wow, that was an awesome article about the Ram, not that I care one ounce about it being it's even uglier than before.

Would love to see as detailed an article as that about the new 150. Doesn't even need engine info if Ford is still too scared to release it, but detailed info about everything else would be nice for sure.

I agree with many of you. I had a 02 F-150 and loved that truck. Had it 5 years, until I got my F-250 which I love. The 08 F-250 looks OK, but the 09 F-150 looks pretty bad..... I am not a fan of it. I loved the 04-08 F-150's and went in to buy one last year, until I found my F-250 which was a left over that the dealer was giving away for 15k off MSRP since they had 08s on the lot. Not to mention I was in favor of the diesel idea since my F-150 got about 11-12MPG towing my bass boat, while my diesel gets 16 towing. Ford trucks have always looked the best, but this 09 F-150 is a little well, off to say the least. I'm sure it will grow on us over time, especially since the interiors are very plush, but the body styling is off. The tailgate lines are odd, as are the rear lights. And the 4x4 stickers and grill need some help. JMO. I'm sure it will be a great truck. Just the looks need to grow on me.

if you wanted to race trucks then you should not have bought an F-150 other than the Lightning or Harley

why are you racing trucks that were not meant to be raced?
