As for highway mileage I'm doing terrific, in town is the complete opposite. If I was going to keep the truck I'd look into gears, but not sure how long I will have it.

I'm consistently getting 18+ in my highway/rural 2-lane/very little city driving. I'm sure I could get near 20 with an extended highway trip, but I usually have my live-in brick (travel trailer) behind me, and that knocks it down to 10-11.

Oh, I have a soft tonneau BTW.

I just looked at the article. And for me if there is no diesel in the F150 for 2009, then I will without a doubt be buying a F250/350 with a diesel.

i plan to buy a 09 but if ford doesnt come out with either the boss or the diesel then i def will pick up a 09 350

04 Red Lariat: Last i checked this was a f-150 forum and nobody wants to hear about that toy u call a truck.
Manual F150: stop trying to make your truck into something its not. If the v6 was so powerful and get so good gas mileage then why dont they sell that many.
Squirrel guy: There is a reason they redesigned the engine and gave it more power for the new bodystyles. i dont think the weight difference can make up for the hp and tq gains.
