Dude you're missing the biggest thing here. It is on the internet, IT MUST BE TRUE

i have never seen so many people bitch about something that is speculation
its ****in edmunds......they get a whole lot of **** wrong about speculating about upcoming models, like i said, 2011 is when the twin turbo 6.2L is coming out, the regular 6.2L(which will still be powerful) will come much earlier than that
god damn

Stupid Ford....
My day is so ruined. Do I really have to buy a 09 GM Sierra with a 6.2L and a 6 speed....

Nope, can't afford F1-250 w/Diesel option. Not now anyway.
Seen this somewhere...
ALMOST DEFINITIVE ENGINE INFORMATION!!
The truck will launch in 2008 with:
4V DOHC 3.7l V6 - Port Fuel Injected (i.e. non-Direct injected)(about 280 ft.lbf at 2000 rpm) (not sure about transmission)
3V SOHC 4.6l V8 with 6speed auto (Explorer combo - 292 hp and 300 lb.-ft)
3V SOHC 5.4l 6speed auto (Expedition combo - 300 hp and 365 lb.-ft ) - it is very likely Ford Re-wroked this engine for increased power and torque so the numbers are likely to go up.
NO BOSS ENGINES
2009 1/2 Model (Februaury 2009) will add:
2V SOHC 6.2l V8 BOSS engine with 6speed auto (about 400hp)
2010 Model (fall 2009) will add:
DOHC 4.4l Common Rail Diesel with CGI block (315hp and 520 lb-ft)
4V DOHC 3.5l V6 - Twin Turbocharged Direct injected (Twin Force - 350hp, 380 lb-ft at 2000 rpm)
2011 or 2012 model will add:
4V DOHC 6.2l V8 - Twin independent variable cam timing, twin turbocharged, direct injected (Twin Force - over 650 lb - ft)

Uhm, edmunds.com, look up the 2005 F-150.

I'm pretty sure they're trying to say there wont be a V6 for the new model until 2010.

While I'm gettin' my butt whooped by the friendly 5.4's... I'm savin' $$$$ at the pump....
Besides..... who DOES want a v6 F150? Not many... but us who have them feel kind of special. lol
Actually... if Ford did things right, they'd just turbo or supercharge the 4.2l. As you can get the same numbers from a F/I v6 then you get with the N/A 5.4l and saving lots of $$$ at the pump too. We all know in order for Ford to think of something THAT bright (hence instead of spending a bunch of time building an entire engine) they would need to hire some new engineers. LOL
Now, I'm not knocking Ford... I'm just saying, they've got enough engines they can use to output some crazy #'s without spending $$$$ and more $$$$$ and more time... infact, they could work on them to be BETTER BUILT.
Like For example, the supercharged 5.4l v8 say out of the HD. Why don't they make that just an option in all models, XL, XLT, Lariet, etc. That's got the numbers needed to succeed. And look, Ford doesn't need a whole new team of engineers to create a NEW engine.
Besides, Ford could make some damn good engines if they put their minds to it... rather than being in a rush to create something new with it's own set of problems.
Like getting rid of 7.3l PS and introducing the 6.0l PS way back when. All Ford had to do was implement what was done on the 6.0l PS to the 7.3l PS and refine it even more. But they just decided to make a whole new engine, the 6.0l PS that had a ton of problems. Why Ford? Why?! Just why do you plague the customers with this garbage?! Why?
Getting back to the 4.2l v6, if you noticed Ford made a VERY good move on this engine. They REFINED IT. They changed out the cast iron heads and dropped in aluminum heads. Mind you, cast iron heads are cheaper that aluminum heads. What difference did that make? Well it made about 5 to 8 ft/lbs of added torque... did it add much? No... but it made some improvement. But if Ford just got their act together, they could be making some really nice trucks for the same price of not cheaper.
