Took the truck to the shop this morning

Finally getting my brake recall done and hopefully the HVAC issue taken care of today. Well I'm 2 weeks out of warranty but under on the mileage. So I'm thinking how to go about this and thinkin' they'll probably work with me on it since I bought the truck from them and all. The service mngr. does my paperwork for me and I start to talk to him about just being out of warranty and blah blah blah. He says to me "No your not, you have extended warranty coverage w/100 deductible.". I'm like "No sh*t?"Apparently I have the Gap coverage or something, I'll have to check when I get home but kick azz. They wanted 200 bucks for a tranny service, 140 per axle for the differentials, and 210 for the transfer case for fluid changes . Guess I'll be doing that stuff myself. Anyways, just thought I'd share. Have a great day folks.

Well that's not it. Now were going to try a blenn door motor. Maybe that's it and of course that part is not in stock. Should I just leave my truck there over the weekend or go pick it up? Hmmm.

Don't answer that, I think I'm going to see how long I can go with having a inter net conversation w/myself. Now if that's not pathetic then I don't know what is

Hey what is wrong with your hvac. Mine wont change from the air going to the front vents to defrost. Should be something with the blend door or motor. Thanks

3rd times the charm. Right? Now they are saying it's the blenn door. Sounds to me like they're just throwing parts at it instead of properly diagnosing the problem. It was a long weekend w/out my trucky

That's the only way I get the answers I want though

That's what mine was doing. They are replacing the blenn door motor today. This will be the 3rd part they've replaced now.

Wasn't the blenn door motor. Service manager said the tech was looking at some prices for different parts. What the hell does that mean??????? Prices???? It's flippin covered under warranty you dipstick. This is the 3rd part you supposedly installed!!!

I'm done with them. Obviously they can't diagnose the problem. I'm pickin' my damn truck up and I'm going to start talking to people. My father-in-laws neighbor told me last night that one of his good friends is ranked 7th in the nation for Ford Tech something or another. I'm going to talk to him. I am so frickin' pissed right now. I honestly don't think they know WTF they're doin'?

Hopefully I'll be able to compose myself before I get there. Would hate to make a scene.

Ohhhh Boy, those S.O.B.'s.

O.K. first off, they think its a problem with (he didn't know the name) a piece that is up inside the dash that is pyramid shaped that moves w/the blenn door closing different flaps. Apparently this is getting hung up and it needs replaced. Says the whole dash needs to come out. Great!!!

Well I ask about all the other parts that they where throwing at it and he gave me some explanation like I figured he would then he says "We all good John?" and wants to shake my hand. Well this guy should be in the "Fat Bastards Check in" sticky. He's about 5'5" either way you measure him. Real laxadasial attitude too. I say "Let's look the truck over". We do a walk around and all looks good. He takes off with the fluff guy in a dealership shuttle type of van. Well when I opened the door I about crapped. The whole wing side of the seat is soiled w/significant amounts of grease. The toe kicks, sill plate steering wheel and door arm rest have grease on them. The touch screen navi system looked like a bunch of little kids had playing with it. The headliner now has a set of fingerprints in it stained w/grease. My nice clean WeatherTech mats now have shop boot prints w/grease on them. I could not believe this. So I went and found the only service guy I could find. Obviously this young man has not had too much customer service experience because he was nervous as hell once he saw the interior.

Called the store manager today. They wanted to come pick it up and do a full detail and all that. The point that I wanted to make was the fact that obviously some of your employees have no respect for others property. Then I posed a question to him that if this had happened to you and lets say you had a Ford GT, what would be your reaction and what actions would you take?

So what would you do now? Take it back and let them fix it or find somewhere else to let them have a shot at it. The dealership where this all happened said if I would bring the truck back to them that he would personally see that everything is handled properly and that the truck would get a full interior detail job once the job was completed.

I'd let them attempt to fix their own screw up.

Hate to say this Johnny, but I think you're being way to picky... I mean, come on, you want both your truck fixed AND to get it back clean!!! LoL...

Seriously though, I'd probably take it to a different dealer. The goons at your dealership have proved themselves to be total idiots. So take it to a different place, have them fix it, and then take it back to the offending dealership to have them clean the inside stains.

Oh yeah, take plenty of pictures NOW so that they don't come back later and say that it wasn't them.

Typically I would give a person or Co. the benefit of the doubt. In this particular case I had even told the fluff guy in a joking manner but yet seriously about eatin' doughnuts and spillin' coffee in my truck. Made a special point to do a walk around inspection. Truck was freshly washed the night prior to going to the hospital. It's not like I looked like some possel or vagrant pulling in there, ya' know.

I'm also looking at it this way. After my convo this morning, folks there should be aware of what had happened and think that when/if he comes back (me) then we better make damn sure things get handled properly.

I dunno. Guess I'll gnaw on it for a while and get some feedback from here and family/buds.

Like a previous poster stated, let them have a chance at cleaning up their own mistakes. That is the only way you are going to get a free interior detail. If they don't clean it to how it was when you took it in there, I would look at other options.

And, Gap insurance has nothing to do with warranty repair work. Gap insurance covers the difference between the appraised value of a totaled/stolen vehicle versus what is owed on the vehicle.

The store manager called me yesterday, as promised, to see if I was coming down there to drop my truck. I told him to call me on the 28th since I'm going out of town tomorrow.

I was wondering if they would remember to call me but @ 8:03a.m. my phone rang and it was them. Leaning towards going somewhere else but still undecided.
