Are the parts interchangeable? I have two vehicles both the same year but want to get one running like it's supposed to, they both run.

Is the 4.6 a Heritage or new body style? Either way, no engine parts are interchangeable and the transmissions are not interchangeable.

The 4.6 is actually a grand marquis the 4.2 is a f150 heritage

What parts do you want to interchange? I think there are very few that can be.

I'm not sure yet, I have several codes on the car that keep pointing back to the ECU as the main problem. I know the truck runs pretty good except for the O2 sensors (which is due to it not having a muffler, catalytic converter or exhaust pipes-all removed when it was stolen for a month) and possibly the battery or alternator (I'm betting on battery).

ECU, alternator, and exhaust parts, no. Battery and O2 sensors, yes.
