2008 F150 4x4 with Blown 5.4L 3V Triton

Hello every one,
I am helping a friend try to find a used motor for his 2008 F150 4x4. As the subject states, it currently has the 5.4L 3V Triton motor with automatic transmission. He wants this to be as simple as possible so I am wanting to know: What years of the 5.4L 3V motor would be a direct plug and play replacement?

Also his transmission is going , so would the same years be applicable for a replacement transmission?

Thank you in advance.

2005-2010 on engine and 2005-2008 on transmission.

I am seeing contradicting info online, everything is saying the 5.4l 3v Triton was first put in F150's in 2004? ?

A 2004 engine will work, but NOT recommended. There are a few differences and problems. If you can find one, a 2009 or 2010 engine is the best. 2007 or 2008 is the best transmission choice, and it has to be out of a 5.4 4x4 F150.

Check out MonsterTransmission. Had a really good experience repowering and rebuilding my transmission on my 2008 FX4 5.4 3V. Good luck.
