PCM / harness pigtail swap?

i swapped a good 2006 F150 XLT 5.4 3v engine and engine wiring harness into a 2005 f150 XLT with a bad engine. I didnt want to use the 2005 engine harness because it had been tampered with and had multiple connectors that were in poor shape. Looking for advice on best way to make this work. I have the other connector from both trucks and wondered if anyone has run into this before. Can i just swap pins from old connector to new one ( 4 pins are different shape) or should i splice the wires using the new connector with heatshrink etc. Id reather not pull the body harness off the 2006 and put it into the 2005 if i can help it. I will be pulling the harness to see how hard it is but would rather save time and do something with just the connectors. Thanks

s that werent in good shape Everything hooked up fine except the one 12 pin pigtail coming off the PCM main connector. The 2005 has a different pigtail/connector ( 12 pin). Looking for advise as to best emthod to either swap the 12 pin connector with the newer style from my 2006 truck or take the entire harness from the 2006 truck and put it in the 2005 truck which would be a PITA IMO.

You could, but that would be at last resort.

I prefer buying the connector with pins and using the right tools to fix it right. You are after all talking about data connections into computer.
