Recalibrate 2005 F150 speedometer

Been looking at various posts on here and other Ford pages for info on re-calibrating my speedometer. All of them that I saw have two buttons to push to do the task. My truck has only 1 button. So, does that mean I cannot re-calbrate mine? Or, is there another way?

The only way I know of is with a OBD2 programmer.

https://superchips.com/flashcal-for-...edometer-tool/

For more money, you can get a programmer with custom tunes for your truck that can correct this plus optimize the way it runs.

However, I think Forscan for Windows with the extended license can do it. This would be considerably cheaper. You need a Windows laptop and a ELM327 adapter.

Great. I have a laptop and currently use OBDLink SX, but I don't think that is compatible. Worth getting the adapter for Forscan and trying it.

From what I have read 2005 to 2008 trucks are different and even the FORscan will not work to correct the speedometer error due to larger tires. Unless I hear from someone who actually had done it, I feel safer going to a speedometer shop or at least checking what their cost would be. Otherwise I will just drive like I have been knowing it is off and compensating for it.

Spend the money on a tuner devise. That is the best way plus you will have it in the future if you change ties size again.

73 years old, don't plan on changing tire size. Been driving with this size tire for 8 years. Plan on checking what a shop would charge to do the job.

Won't cost you anything to try Forscan. You have a compatible adapter and you can get a 2 month free extended license. Paid licenses are only $12 per year.

I will. I found this last night -
I fellow said it worked on his F250. So if the 150 used the same computer system, it may work on mine.
