I’m planning on getting my 2005 Flareside F150 truck repainted. Went to several custom paint a shops & I was told that the material of the bed fenders was a composite epoxy matrix fiberglass panel which begins as a flat sheet that’s fed into a forming press and activated under heat & pressure to form the fenders. Sounds high tech but… nobody has been able to fill in the tie down recesses without it changing over time. The problem appears to be aggravated by temperature shifts causing bonding or visual distortion. In other words; looks like c**p over time. Since I have a fiberglass tonneau cover, I don’t want to see those tie downs. So what are the options? Remember, this is an 2005. Thank you

 

I purchased a tie down delete kit from the F150 store. They are out of business (I think), but there maybe someone else that carries them.
