just over time. I back my trailer up my driveway and I put it in low, I'm sure it must have happened then. I have not abused it at all, but I do trail it, never jumped or anything.

Are you using 4WL ... that puts a lot of torque to the front drive axle ... in reverse .., so maybe that was the cause?

A competent welder can fix a majority of that since there is minimal rust.
