Running rough, misfiring.. couple questions.. help.

Thought every one might want to hear an update. I know it annoys the heck out of me when Im reading a tread and the OP never updates so we could hear what the problem was. lol
Well, I fixed my truck. I really don't know why or how. Well I guess I do, but it's just strange.
Like I said, it has new Motorcraft coils with less than 2k miles on them. I've checked the coils over and over and over a million times over the past year. I've swapped out nearly every one with another good one, just to be sure.
Again, like I said, I was suspecting a problem in cylinders 1 and/or 5. I changed the coil again on cylinder 5, and it still ran like crap. But, it seemed to drop in idle now when I would remove the coil connector.
Moved on to cylinder 1. I checked for spark with an inline spark tester. There's definitely spark. For the hell of it, I swap out the coil anyway with a known good one, and voila! Truck runs perfect!
I cant believe it. I swear I've checked and rechecked and messed with these coils a million times.
So yes, a coil can produce spark and still make your truck run terribly. I put an ohm meter on it after and there is nothing when checking from the spring to either of the connector pins. Pin to pin, it measures about .8.
Thank you so much for all the help guys! Now to try to put on 100 miles or so to reset everything without any inspection sticker on the truck. lol
