2007 F-150 Lariat - Wheel Vibration and Front End noise

Just recently purchased a 2007 F-150 Lariat, 5.4L Triton this week. 135,xxx miles, no lights on dash and no codes shown on scanner. Tires are in alright shape, can get a few months off them but do need to be replaced in the near future. Factory 18" wheels. 265/60R/R18

I have noticed a hum/vibration from the front end, that sounds like an airplane in the distance, or like a loud microwave, or maybe like tires rubbing something, but ONLY when the wheel is straight, or turned left. The further I turn left, the louder the noise gets, and the more I feel the vibration in the wheel and slightly in the gas pedal. But at its loudest point, its still not insanely loud. Can be drowned out with radio on or windows down. But when I turn the wheel right, could be 1 degree right, or fully to the right, the sound completely disappears and then re-appears as soon as the wheel is centered or pulled left. Only noticeable after 30-35mph. Do not hear it under 30mbps, unless its just too quiet to notice.

Backstory on the truck is that it was garage kept for a few years, as the old lady I bought the truck from, had her husband pass away a few years back, and the truck just sat in the garage collecting dust until she had to sell the truck due to financial issues. I have had an oil change, power steering fluid flushed and replaced, and the differential maintenanced, but am still hearing the noise.

I am not mechanically inclined, so I really have no clue where to start looking. Any suggestions?

Sounds to me like maybe a front wheel hub bearing. Could be a IWE too.

You should get it checked.

Is this 2wd or 4wd?

Take it to a Ford dealer or a good independent shop.

Sounds like a front hub, which is fairly easy to replace if you have good mechanical ability and tools. If you do it yourself, I would suggest a Moog brand hub. It takes about an hour to do the job.

Depends on whether it's 2wd or 4wd.

Most likely a wheel bearing, whether it's 2wd or 4wd. If it's a 4wd, not as likely it's the IWE (hub).
