Flow Master Drone Sound Deaf

I have a 2006 XLT 4.6 F150 Patriots addition which came with a cat back Borla dual exhaust.
The muffler inlet and outlets were shot so I just had them throw on a Flowmaster the 40 series.
I had those on my 5.0. WOW!!! My ears are already shot.
I liked the Borla that was on there before. It sounded good under excelleration but then was quiet at no load.
Looking for a muffler that is similiar or which borla one to buy
Thanks

Thanks. You definitely need to replace that Fartmaster. If the tailpipes were dumped or in front of the rear wheels, it would drone even more.

What do you need - a single in/dual out?

You can try a glasspack in front of the new muffler....
…. But first clamp about 10-12 pounds of steel to the pipe about halfway between the new muffler and the OEM Y-pipe. To just try it, use a couple hose clamps with weight of scrap. If it works for you, you can then make a "better" setup. The weight will not change sound or tone or restriction, but will dampen drone vibrations.

My weights are salvaged from a Crown Vic system, couple tubes filled with concrete or sand & sealed. Sure cured my drone issue but good, kills the vibrations with out changing sound at all.

Mine too, I just used the straight out back tip option. After adding a 28" long 3" core SS glasspack that mellowed the tone, I still had bad droning. I tried angle tips out the rear corners, tried baffles, etc, but when I added the weight, that was the huge drone killer with no other changes, it purrs. The system I used to replace what was rusting was a Legato all SS 3" SI/2.5" DO with a 14" long chambered muffler, it's like the FM American Thunder, but cheaper.
