True story
True story
Yesterday I loaded up a bunch of scrap steel, cutoffs, etc and some tires, wheels, and a heavy 5 foot long steel tool box I made back in the '80s that I got tired of seeing, tool box was strapped to rest on the tailgate, cover not shut, took it all to the trash center, backed up to scrap metal bin, was off loading when fellow comes over. I ask about some pieces of wood scrap and the tires, he told me where to put them, it was like 99.9 degrees F, it was hot …
… he struck up a conversation about trucks, said he used to have a Ford F-250 6.0 but it was costing him too much, so he bought his Chevy, said he wanted a F-150 … then he asked what year my truck was. I said "2007", he said "No way, it looks too good" … I said "Don't they all?"
True story, I will haul trash or even scrap steel. Why I have the floor and fender walls from a trimmed out drop in over top of my Line-X. Makes sliding stuff easy too.
Hauled a good load of old boxes, bags, and three cans of trash today, had to leave bed cover open again until I off loaded.
Truck is getting dusty.

I like scrap yards... I've met some pretty nice people at them. Same with my local dump. Most garbage men (sorry, sanitation engineers) are pretty nice people who work hard.
