New Shoes - Cooper ATP 275/65/18

Finally got some new rubber for the truck, as the Nitto Terra Grapplers had crossed 51K miles. I was happy with the Nittos (they were my second set), but didn't want to pony up the $200+ per tire for the 285/60/18s I had been running. I ended up going with the Cooper ATPs in a slightly narrower but larger diameter size, but they were closer to $170/ea at Discount Tire. Essentially went to a 32" from a 31.5", no rubbing on my 2WD with factory suspension height. They seem to ride pretty quiet on the road/highway, but get a bit of a roar when going around curves at speed (highway on-ramp/off-ramps) which is a little annoying but may cease once I get a few thousand miles on them. I may be selling the truck by the Spring to get the wife an SUV, so I wasn't enthused about dropping another few hundred $$ on the Nittos, and I'm sure there's no difference in life span or performance, just name recognition. Went with the white letters out this time around, which looks pretty sharp on my black truck. So, if anyone was questioning it, a 32" tire fits just fine with no rubbing on a factory 2WD suspension with no leveling kit.

Sure! I've purchased at least 5 sets of tires from Discount Tire for various vehicles over the years. On this set, I had scheduled the installation on a Saturday morning and before I could even get out of the truck after parking, one of the service reps was at my door. He even asked if I was "Mr SoonerTruck", so he was looking for a black F-150 to show up for the appointment. I was impressed that they would even bother looking at the schedule and trying to greet a customer by name when they saw a vehicle matching the description pull in.
