Frame rot

just found some rot holes in my frame when I was under my truck, can’t believe it. My truck is fairly clean for being in the north east for 11 years. It’s an 05 fx4 with 175k miles. I will post pics later to show you guys. I’ve done some searching and have seen a couple people complain but no results of repair like before and after pics. I took it to a body shop and they told me they don’t patch frames and they said get rid of it. By the way it’s the section of the frame where the second to last exhaust hanger is bolted, the long weld Akon the bottom of the frame is falling apart. Ganna find someone that can do a decent patch then get rid of it next year. Anyone else seen this on their trucks?

That isn't bad.

A competent welder can box it in.

My buddy just had that done to his horse trailer...

I have seen worse posted here …. and fixed with real nice results. Take some looking, but very worth while IMHO.

Very neat idea!

I think it was the Toyotas that had a bad rap for frame rot to the point they'd fall apart in the road.
