broke ground post on solenoid
broke ground post on solenoid
Installing NEW starter and I broke the the plastic around the ground post, didn't even make it that tight, and cracked the plastic base. Is it possible to just replace the solenoid? Or maybe I wil just jb weld the plastic.....
Perhaps I can use the old solenoid housing?

it doesnt really "need" to be there, especially being on the ground side
I think I'd attempt to transfer the old one before I tried to glue it, due to its tight hard to reach location

Pulled out the new one and applied some regular JB Weld, hardware store didn’t have high heat. The regular says it’s good up to 500 degrees. The “trick” will be tightening the wire on that post again. I think I will run a nut to the bottom of the post so I can hold it with a wrench while tightening. I’m getting pretty good at taking these starters in and out 😜
