Pull the parking brake release and lift the pedal all the way up with your foot.

What do you mean by "couple yellow"? The BRAKE warning light in the cluster is red.

While you're at it, explicitly identify your vehicle. We ain't psychic.

There is a switch on the parking brake mechanism, it may be broken or out of adjustment.

I know mine stays on when I release the parking brake, I have to do the foot trick to get it to go out.

I would say that there is a good chance that the brake light switch is the problem. If you can find the plugin disconnect it to see if the brake light goes out.
