Exclamation Cluster Will Randomly Shut Off While Driving

Hey guys!

I have a 2004 F150 Lariat 4x4

For the past couple of weeks my cluster will randomly turn off/reset it self.
The cluster will turn off (tac, speedo, gas gauge, battery gauge, etc) and also the radio, interior lights, power windows/locks.

Then all the warning lights and chimes will come on at the same time and stay light up (4x4, abs, engine, parking brake, etc)... like it would when you open the key all the way before turning the truck on.

Tac, speedo, and all my gauges twitch when they turn off, and when they come back on they return to the adequate position.

I cleaned both the NEG and POS terminals/cables of the battery and that seemed to help a little bit. Everything doesn't turn off every 10 seconds now, but it still happens.

I would like to note that I hear a "click" noise coming from the fuse box (I think that's where it's coming from) when everything turns off. Maybe its a fuse or relay that overheats.

My truck has the following cluster style...

Go get your battery load tested. A weak battery can do strange things like that.

Weird, I bought the battery (Duralast Gold) a couple months ago like January or February 2017.

I'll drop by AutoZone and have the look at it.

Thanks

Have them test the alternator too.

Well, went to AutoZone and they hooked up a little machine and apparently my battery and alternator are good...

I'd like to add that on my way to AutoZone, the dash & radio didn't turn off or act weird.

I had the same problems as you, ended up being a faulty alternator. Get a second opinion from another auto parts store (O'Reilly's). I took mine to AutoZone, got a clean bill of health. I then went over to O'Reilly's and they said it was faulty. I replaced it with one of theirs, solved the issue. However, make sure to buy an alternator with a lifetime warranty, I've since gone through 4 alternators in a year, bearing failures and charging failures.
