07 FX4 4x4 Steering issues Bad Hard Lines on Rack

Long and short of it is the long hard transfer line on the rack is shot. pisses fluid every time you turn the wheels or at a regular freq when idling. I found the cordone part numbers I need but I need the truck up and running faster..

I attempted to remove the line and was unable to get it to un-thread.. I was able to break it free and spent the next 15 minutes backing out to realize its not coming out, its come out about 1/2 to 3/4's of an inch and just spinning like its got down pressure and its out the rest of the way but its most certainly not.. Am I missing something?

Is that standard line? can i replace it with my own cheap bought and bent line make my own flares? I need the truck back up before i leave for training this week so she can drive it while i have her car for travel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On my 05 they were 3/8.. you can use brake/fuel line to replace it with ..I got rid of the oem return line all together and installed a small cooler

any chance the ni-com(nickel something something lines) will work ? they are super easy to bend and since this will be done on my back looking up at leaking fluid i'm going to speed bending
