I have searched here and I guess I missed it. Google missed it too. I need a new sending unit put in. My mechanic told me I should plan on replacing the gasket and lock ring on the fuel tank also. I can find the gasket but I can't find the lock ring anywhere for my 2007 F150 5.4. Is it part of the gas tank itself? Is it part of the pump assembly? Why can I only find the rubber gasket and not the lock ring for my truck? I find it hard to believe that no one sells just the lock and gasket.
Any help would be appreciated.

I've done a lot of fuel pumps and was always able to reuse both the ring and gasket. Any idea why he made that suggestion?
