Check Engine Light: Code B1484

2004 Ford F-150 XLT Triton (V8)

Hey guys! My check engine light turned on and I went to get that checked, I was given two codes, one of the codes I was given is B1484: Brake Pedal Input Open Circuit. I have no idea what I need to do. So any advise is highly appreciated! Thanks!

Go get it read again. That code will not turn on the check engine light.

It also helps if you specifically identify what you have so we don't have to guess.

Well, it had two codes. The first having to do with the thermostat (P0128) and then I also had that second code. I have a 2004 Ford F-150 XLT Triton (V8)

Do your brake lights (including the 3rd one) and cruise control work?

The P0128 is usually a bad thermostat, but not always.

I will have someone check if my brake lights are turning on then. Not sure about the cruise control, I never use it. I will have to check that, thank you. As for the P0128 I understood that one, I just didn't get the brakes one

Well, it had two codes.
Well, you should have said that in the first place since the P0128 is what set the check engine light, not the B1484.

Well regardless of what set it off... there are two issues with the truck and I know how to fix one of them. I didn't mention the P0128 code at first because that's not the one I'm lost with. The one I was needing advice on was B1484.

If we need a play-by-play this is what happened. I was sent through a detour to get to my workplace... it was a bumpy dirt road and once I finally made it to the end I stopped at the stop sign and that's when it turned on. I took it to the nearest car parts store and they gave me the two codes. The B1484 was the one I wanted advise with, that's all! This was my 1st post here, I'm not a pro at this so my bad if I'm confusing anyone

The B1484 DTC originates from the ABS module. When you got to that stop sign, any chance you had to apply the brakes hard enough to activate the ABS?

Is your yellow ABS warning light on? Does it also self-test when the truck is started? Do the normal stop lamps, including the high-mount one, work as glc asked about?
