2016 wheels on 2007 xlt

I am trying to verify that factory wheels/tires from a 2016 f150 will fit my 2007 xlt. I cross checked from an Ebay listing and it says "this part is not compatible", even though the bolt pattern is the same.

here are the specs for the 2016 wheels I am looking at:
Brand:
Ford Factory, OEM

Number of Bolts: 6 Rim Material: Alloy Bolt Pattern: 6x135 Rim Width: 7.5 Rim Structure: One Piece Rim Diameter: 17 Quantity: 4 Offset: +44 Rim Brand: Ford Factory, OEM

Any ideas why it shows incompatible? Maybe the lugs?

Doesn't the 2008 monitor tire pressure with the ring whereas the newer use the valve stem system? That could be why, if that is the case.

That may be it ..... my '07's wheels use band type TPMSs as does our '08 Mustang.

My cousin put 2013 wheels on her 2004 XLT and they fit just fine. They will fit, but the tpms sensors will not work on the 07-08 system. You will have to install the older style band type sensors to work with your truck.

So if I were to just swap the wheels (tires and all), then my TPMS light will stay on? I would then need to go to tire shop to get the sensors replaced, or maybe take the sensors off the others wheels, this seems like a lot of effort. I really just need the tires, but found a great deal on the tires and rims together since they are take-offs.

Yes. The TPMS was federally mandated on 2007 and later cars and light trucks (fallout from the explorer/firestone fiasco back around 2000) The 07-08's have the sensor mounted on a band wrapped around the wheel. The 09-14's are mounted on the underside of the valve stems, each system uses a different frequency and are not interchangable. Don't know what the 15+ use but if had to guess, I would say they are the probably stem type like the 09-14's. You can buy aftermarket sensors in either style that use either frequency so you could buy the stem type that uses the 07-08 freq and put them in your new wheels/tires. The stem type is easier and cheaper to install than the older band style. You only need to break down the bead on the outside of the tire and swap in the new stem. The band type you need to totally dismount the tire, more time, more work, more money.

And before you ask, no you cannot disable or turn off the TPMS on Ford's. I've heard you can on GM but I can't verify that.

Oh, my cousins 04 with 2013 wheels does not not have TPMS so she just left the sensors there and running them just fine.

thanks for the information. Can you recommend the sensor I need for this? One that uses the older frequency in the 2007 truck but mounts under the valve stem. Is there no way to change the receiver end (the part that takes the signal from the sensor) instead?

All I can tell you is check online tire retailers like tire rack or discount tire and see what you can find. As for the receiver, I don't know, never heard of anyone trying that. AFAIK your stuck with whatever receiver setup you got from the factory.
