Cluster/Electrical Problems

This thread is for anyone who is having similar problems that I was having with my truck. Recently decided to build my motor. Had the whole engine bay torn apart after pulling the motor because there was a lot of sloppy wiring etc. Truck sat outside for 6months without moving. After having the truck back together I had a problem with my cluster going out/completely shutting off, while revving the engine past 2000rpm. This would turn off my cluster, radio, hvac, and windows. After a few seconds the cluster would kick back on and say check gauges. While revving to 2000rpm I also saw on my voltmeter that it would spike to 15+ volts before everything would shut off. Found out the problem was a bad ground. In my case it was a ground that I had forgotten to put back neg battery to firewall. Also replaced the other 2 grounds battery to chassis and engine to chassis.
