Bumper Hitch Receiver

Has anyone used anything like this before? Will this model work on my 2006 Lariat Step Bumper? Just doing light towing or else i would go for complete hitch...

For some strange reason, those bolts look like I can snap them with my 3/8" drive easily.

I would just get a complete hitch. I just don't like the thought of bumpers taking the weight of even a small trailer.

I agree. I'd get an actual hitch. You can get one installed at u haul for just over $100. Worth it. I really wouldn't want to tow much of anything using the bumper. Even a light trailer could end up bending the bumper downward.

Steve, we've got the exact same truck. Don't ruin it with some cheap bumper hitch. Get a class III or IV hitch. It'll also help in selling the truck when the time comes.

If you are towing something light weight, just put a ball on the bumper. I assume the 06 still has that feature. Should be fine with an open utility trailer that is about 1500lbs or less. Check the Ford rating.

Yeah. Decided I'm gonna put a Reese Class III Hitch on. This is for an open Snowmobile Trailer 8'x10' Tilt. Getting it off Craigslist and picking it up Saturday afternoon. Am going to just use ball in bumper to pick it up, but will put Hitch on before I tow with my Sleds on it. Thanks all...

Or look for a F-150 rear bumper mount to replace yours with ..... one with receiver?
