Dead battery after 3 days..
Dead battery after 3 days..
Well my battery dis after three days of sitting. So I put my electrical meter on the battery and it's pulling tpo many amps when key off and doors shut. Traced down to the radio fuse. I yanked it and now can sit permanently and start right up. The question I have now is, is the stereo bad or the harness? Has anyone had this specific problem before? I tried to search but my phone is won't let me type in the search bar.
The owner's manual will tell you what the fuse feeds.
If your radio works normally, I'd say it is not the problem. I believe there MAY be two fuses to the radio though. One would be a low Amp fuse for "keep alive" power. It should send power to the station presets, etc., as long as there's a battery in the truck, even if the ignition is off. The same fuse may feed the clock and keyless entry if you have that.
The other one, if I'm right about there being two fuses, would supply power for normal operation of the radio, CD player, and so on with the ignition on.

I'm not sure. I rechecked the draw after removing the stereo today and it went away while having the fuse in. So fuse in and no stereo equals no draw but fuse in and stereo in equals draw. So obviously the stereo has a grounded out circuit in it. Anyone else ever have that problem? (Factory radio)
