New guy, new (used) truck!

Hey all, first post. Just bought a 07 F150 with 114k on the clock 5 days ago. Just installed a Double Din Kenwood, and thats it for now. I've recently came into a "trans fault" and won't shift into 3rd when its warm (shifts fine when just started up...) so to the dealer it goes! I'm going to hope this 3rd party warranty will cover it. Most likely a shift solenoid pack... but if the warranty company pays for it, I hope I get a new trans

Nice truck you bought. 4.6L?

Hopefully your transmission issue isn't anything big and if it is that they take good honest care of you.

Yessir, 4.6L. I hope they do as well, one trans shop already told me I need a converter without doing any Diag at all... I was an Auto Tech for years though, if it wasn't under warranty I'd be borrowing a Modis scanner and dropping the pan myself.. but.. Warranty.. haha!

Thanks! I really like it. Made the stock speakers sound much better. You should see the harness! Perfectly soldered and shrink wrapped, and is neat and tidy behind the receiver!

A good clean install always feels nice . I had a similar Kenwood in my vehicle before this truck and really liked it. Loved the Bluetooth capabilities that the car didn't have before that. Yours looks nicer though. Good luck with the truck!

It does, but I haven't utilized it yet. Maybe one day!

Sweet looking truck. I recently got an 08 SCREW and I can't wait to put in a double din. Any particular reason why you went with the Kenwood? I've been leaning toward the Pioneer, mainly because of the Apple CarPlay feature. Thoughts?

Yeah, the Pioneers integrated amp only put out 14w RMS of power, the Kenwoods put out 22w RMS, and I liked the interface of the kenwood a bit better (it was a little faster on inputs) but thats all personal. If you like the pioneer, go for it!

They were a little more expensive, $330 bucks, but still not too bad for a double din radio with touch screen... no GPS though, I hate updating them!
