Vibration while stopped

I have a 2006 F150 4.6L 2v with 130k miles. New plugs/coil packs, throttle body, pretty much everything you can do for a tune up. The problem is when I'm stopped it vibrates, not like a miss fire, but a constant vibration. As soon as I accelerate it stops and runs as smooth as glass. It's driving me insane, because I can't figure out what it is!!
Any suggestions please!
Thank...

Welcome to the site..... That being said I'm sure GLC will be along shortly to tell you that this is the introduction forum and to post your question in the proper forum. (Just poking fun at you George)

Anyhoo, have you EVER had the transmission serviced ? Sometimes old fluid will make it act like that, But that's just a guess.

If you use the search you may be able to find something similar, or post your question in the V-6 or Transmission section, but not both. There are a lot of sharp guys here and someone should be able to point you in the right direction.

Good luck.

Why the V-6 section? A 4.6 is a V-8.........

I'd post in the 2004-2008 section.

Have your brake rotors checked. It might be causing the problem.

Vibration/shutter while stopped

Geez people here are little over the top, sorry I posted in the wrong forum...maybe this is the right one!

I have a 2006 F150 with 130k. It's the 4.6L 2v V8. I had a tune up done last summer on it, new plugs, coil packs, every fluid flush, new filters, new throttle body. Everything was all good until a few weeks ago. At a complete stop my truck would start to vibrate to the point where the seats would shake. As soon as I accelerated it would stop and run as smooth as glass. It only happens when I'm stopped. It's driving me insane!!
If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks!

Rotors/wheel bearings were replaced this past summer.

It's not that we're over the top, it's just that posting in the wrong forum or, creating duplicate threads on the same subject leads to confusing responses that can waste your time and not help you with your problems.

I THINK, I've got everything important that you posted in the proper area now. Good luck finding out how to fix things.

BTW, I also think you mean "shudder", a "shaking"; not "shutter" which means to "close up" or refers to something you put over windows.

Not trying to give you a hard time, but it also helps when your problem is stated clearly.

You could check your FPDM (fuel pump drive module) that is located above your spare tire, they like to corrode and cause fluctuations in fuel pressure. I just replaced mine which had a hole through the casing caused by corrosion.

Not sure rotors are going to be an issue considering his vehicle isn't moving.

Op, what brand plugs and parts did you put in the truck? You can have a low grade misfire that doesn't throw a cel.

Sounds like a misfire to me too. With everything you've done to it, ignition problems seem to be ruled out. And, since it runs fine when moving, I'd judge the fuel delivery ok too.

I wonder if bad compression could cause the problems you're having? Anyone have an opinion on that?

I honestly can't see the PCM malfunctioning only at idle.

However, there are several sensors that may be giving the PCM bad information. I don't know anything about your motor, but if you have a MAF sensor, it may need cleaning. (I don't know that it would have been serviced when you got the new throttle body.) Other than that, maybe O2 sensors?

I have a feeling it's incorrect gap on the plugs, wrong plugs, or there is something up with your new coil packs.

Did you have this issue before the truck got fiddled with?
