Please help

Hello everyone. I recently bought a 2004 f150 xlt. I wanna put a fatter tire on it. Currently on the truck are 265/70r17. I wanna go up to a 285/70r17 on a stock rim. But I'm afraid of rubbing. I like the wrangler duratrac but I don't wanna use spacers. The truck does not have and lift or leveling kit. So my question is will I be ok on using this size on my truck. Please and thank you anything helps. Cheers

Why don't you measure the clearances you have with your current tires, both front and rear and with the fronts turned lock to lock? Then, with the measurements of the new tires (diameter and width), you'd be able to answer your question yourself.

I did this on my trailer before I went to larger tires. It gave me all the information I needed.

I have about a inch clearance around the truck with 265s on. He mathematicaly it should be fine but can't garuntee nothing. And I don't want to get stuck with the tires. Just want to know if any one has done this with no modifications. Thanks for ur reply.

We can't "garuntee" nothing either.

Worst case, you get them, need to do a little trimming of the plastics up front or you easily stick a small 1" spacer on top of the coilover.

^^^ What he said! ^^^

I wouldn't expect anyone's experience here to apply exactly to your truck. There are simply too many variables. If your measurements say they fit, go with it.
