Noise

So I got new upper and lower control arm ball joints inner and outer tie ride and tie rod ends.....got a funny noise tonight a slight hum click noise not real sure what it is.....engaged 4x4 and disengaged it seems to have stopped it...any ideas what it could be

Not sure if it is the video above, or if this link is describing the same thing, but read this thread. My 2005 is doing the same thing, except when I let off the accelerator my noise goes away. So watching the video, I don't think is describing my problem. My sound also goes away when I switch into 4wd

I replaced all of these! They were all leaking. 200K on my truck. 04 F150 STX 4.6 V8 4X4

You may have a leak in the lines around the parts you just replaced??

RevBiker, I replaced the vacuum line and the vacuum tubes and it fixed my problem!! You saved me a couple hundred bucks!! Thanks for the post.

Yeah, just ordered this too. Just replaced the other Check valve (yg360) I'm ready to shoot the first Ford engineer I see. It is maddening sheer and utter madness! If it does not work then on to the entire vacuum harness; as I installed ANOTHER solenoid and IWE's. The symptoms only appear when a load is put on the engine!

I think you should do some trouble shooting before replacing parts. Get a vacuum pump with a guage, and follow the steps in this thread.

Drivers side. Had to blow into the line to find it. Vacuum pump did not make enough noise to locate it. Strange thing is the vacuum line was inside the protective conduit.

Look at the gunk it sucked in too.

Yeah, the logging roads of the North Maine Woods is tough on all vehicles
