Hi all....Newbe here. Just got a '08 4x4 and the light on the dash doesn't come on when I switch to 4H nor does it seem like it is engaging. I can however get to go into 4L by stopping and in neutral as the owner's book instructs. When I shift to 4H driving, less than 55mph, no light on the dash and it seems not to be in 4wd. Light does come on in 4L and it's engaged. Any suggestions where to look first for the light not coming on problem? Both 4L & 4H lights come when first starting then goes out after a few seconds, so the bulb is not out. Thanks in advance!!!

 

Mine will switch into 4x4 high and light -up on the instrument cluster. But 4x4 low will not light up. it might be this switch #7L3Z-14B166-BA

 

Update.....changed the vacuum solenoid and the 4x4 high light now works as it's supposed to....

I know this is an old thread... this is my first post on these forums.

I think I have a bad module as described in the thread above. Is there any reason I can't use one from a Ford Expedition? Same Ford part number 14B194. I just noticed on Ebay the F150 parts are always 2-3x the price. Wondering why.

eBay used to be filled with honest sellers (there still are), but a lot of them are crooked crooks. This has hurt eBay's reputation for the recent times.

Not to mention their listing prices are stupid expensive, then you go PayPal that wants their cut too.

I have a part of my business on eBay, and I'm about to yank it in another few months with the way their prices keep getting jacked.
