Unplugging alternator harness?

I can't find any clip or anything to release the harness. Anyone have any tips?

For such a simple job, this is proving to be quite annoying. Got the harness off, all three bolts for the alt are out but the thing won't budge. Tried hitting it with a hammer too.

Are you sure there's not another bolt hiding somewhere? I've never removed the alternator in a late model vehicle, so I'm just guessing. I did it in an old Mercury Marquis once a long time back, but that doesn't help, does it?

Jack,

I was simply being stupid. Ha! Under the two nuts are two bolts that need to be removed. The top nuts hold a couple extra things in place next to the alternator. What you move those things out of the way, there were two bolts I'd missed. Good thing I didn't try to pry it off!

All is well. New alternator is in. It works too!

Glad I'm not the only one who has these moments! Glad you found the cause of the problem before a bigger one was created.

Good on ya!
