07 sway bar links loose??

Just got an alignment done on my 07 SCAB. now at slow speed turns there is clunking in the front end. It NEVER did that before the alignment. I crawled under the truck and noticed the sway bar link / sway bar joint was loose. The two rubber pieces are not squeezed tight to the sway bar 'eye'. It is the same on both sides. My question is, are these supposed to be tight or are they supposed to have free play in them? (I can spin the sway bar link by hand). I'm thinking this is the cause of my clunking sound....what say you?

There should be no play in the end links. They are cheap enough, I'd replace them.

ok, I don't think they need to be replaced....just wrenched down tight so the nuts squeeze the rubber bumpers against the sway bar end.....Seems like the tech at Sears alignment shop forgot to do it....

Mine wore out and made that same clunk. I tightened them as much as I could, and the bottom that connects to the LCA just wouldn't tighten enough.

Check and recheck the bottom part that connects to the lower control arm. That's the part that usually wears out. The top just has two bushings and can always be tightened down more.

Replaced them with a set of Moog problem solvers and it fixed the issue.

Easy fix.
