OE radio light replacement?

Have the stock am/fm/cd below. The lights have dimmed to where you cannot see them at all. Sometimes if you smack the radio, they will light back up. Guessing they're leds.

Anyone replacement the bulbs? If it's too much of a hassle, I'll just get a new unit instead.

Thanks!

No need to take such offense. A little input (the fact that your radio did the same thing) would have helped with an explanation. "Just get an aftermarket unit" didn't really explain if the bulb(s) were serviceable. Did you check to see if yoyrs were serviceable? Or just upgraded to aftermarket?

Congrats on your new truck and thank you for clearing up your earlier post. I may just get another OEM unit off ebay. I know you can do much more with aftermarket, but I haven't found one that doesn't look super flashy and out of place. I'll check crutchfield though.

Welcome to the forum.

I have the same radio in mine, and I've taken it out before to fix something else. From my recollection, it was just a single unit that wasn't meant to be taken apart for service. I would look on ford parts online to see if they sell parts for the radio, but I doubt it, think it is one replaceable unit.

That being said, you could search on eBay for an oem, i see them often for sale because people change them for aftermarket. Maybe $50?

My 2007 F150 is the same. No lights on the radio for over a year now. I just live with it.

I like the idea of that with the aux input, just seems like too much to spend on a basic oe radio.

No hard feelings. Just a misunderstanding. I appreciate your time. Have any pics of the unit you upgraded to?

My problem is, I have the XL "work truck" type package. Manual windows and everything. So probably the more basic looking radio the better. An aux 1/8" plug for my iPhone and iPod are really the only thing that matters to me.

Do you have aftermarket speakers in your truck or just stock?

They're just stock. Slightly better sound wouldn't be a bad thing. I don't want a sub or anything, but if I was to upgrade speakers, would an amp need to be involved, or are the aftermarket units more powerful wattage wise?

Thanks!

This is my setup granted I have an 02 but I think this look would look great in your truck
It's a PowerAcoustik PD701B single DIN 7 inch screen comes with Bluetooth and Aux input USB and an input for a backup cam and a anti theft

Okay now we getting somewhere at the moment I don't have a amp pushing my highs it's just off my HU I have kenwood 2 way 6x8's in the front (cost me about $65) and Pioneer 3way 6x8's in the back (cost me about $55) and they sound great my HU pre amp is only 2-3 volts which means if your a sing along type a guy your volume is going to hit about 20-30 for loudness but if you get a HU with 3-5 volts pre amp your talking turning your radio to 9 and its loud

That unit does look good in your truck! Id still probably want something a little more plain without the screen. Just cause, I have an xl and it seems a little too much for my truck. I think a plain looking double din unit would be best. But Id want to light colors to match the rest of the controls in my truck. That's the only reason Id want stock. But, you, myself, and a few others all had the lights so bad, so I could just be setting myself up to have it happen again.

Tough call! But I honestly appreciate your time and input!
