No problem man they make basic double DINs that have all the features your looking for but again if you purchase a good aftermarket din you might as well upgrade the speakers for full sound

I was looking at aftermarket radios like that, only thing I didn't like was that the lights don't match the factory green lights and the plastic is not the oem(for example in this posted head unit that plastic is gloss, where the truck has matte finished plastic).

For that reason, for me what looks best is the huge touch screen units that take up the entire double din, but they are pricey......

Yea they definitely can get pricey based on the features of the unit but again it all falls back to what you want

I spoke with a company on ebay that sells the oem radios for our trucks with upgraded aux ports on the front of the units. They also upgrade the lights so they don't burn out. They said they'll add the aux port to mine and upgrade the lights for $100, or I can buy one of theirs that has been upgraded and send them mine. Theirs is $185 and they'd give me a $100 credit for my used radio (they'd fix up mine and re sell).

I think I'm going to go that route. I do appreciate all the comments and ideas!

Does anyone know if a stock radio from a 2011 F150 will slide right into a 2007 stock F150 slot? With all existing wiring, trim, etc.

Thanks

No, it will not work. 2009+ are completely different.

Direct plug n play for you would only be 2007 and 2008. 2004-2006 would work, but the radio wouldn't unless you changed the antennae harness. Sometime in 06 or 07 the antennae harness changed.

Good news. The backlights on our OE radios are actually easily fixable. I fixed mine today and made a step by step how to. Much more informative than the YouTube link posted above.

Thanks for that one too. Make things a lot easier for me to fix mine instead of going in blindly.

I guess you just get the bulbs at the Ford dealer? I only need the odometer one.
