Just bought set of OEM Harley Heads/tails

Should get here next week. I tried the cheap Chinese knockoff's for $80 from EBAY, didn't like them because they were matte black and didn't match, although, quality looked OK actually. The company took it back for full refund and paid shipping both ways, great.

So decided to get OEM, they aren't cheap! I know you guys paint them but I didn't want to because:
1)my heads are from 2006, getting old, wanted a new set to last another 10yrs. I can tell they are getting "yellowish". I hear if you buff them out with the restoring stuff it takes off UV coatings and you're stuck buffing every year again.
2)I'm a perfectionist and I know if I break the lights open, I probably will get some paint imperfections/fingerprint/etc. and resealing them with a tube of silicone wouldn't look that great compared to an OEM housing.
3)I have 2 kids running around, don't really have the time for this, rather be playing lego's

I also see on EBAY that OEM used headlights are selling for $100 each, could possibly get $200 for the pair of my OEM's. If that happens the Harley's would only cost me $200, not bad!

If you think the heads are spendy, take a gander at the Harley grille insert! I want one for my truck, but haven't wrapped my brain around the idea of paying as much for a grille as I have in the past for an entire car......

What are they going for? Think they are 600 on eBay, but yes, pricey but looks awesome.......

Yes -- a shade over $600 bucks for a 3' long piece of plastic. $600 would have bought me a nice beater in high school.....lol

I paid $578 shipped for my Harley grill off of Tasca Parts in 2012. IT came un-assembled with a primed surround. Last I checked it was over $600 shipped now. However I absolutely love the look.

I got lucky and bought fine_style150's old Harley valance for $250 some I think, they were going for $450 last I checked.

Yeah they are good, 600 good, that is questionable! Anyway, I just for the harley headlights they are currently sitting on my table, they are awesome.

You can tell they are painted with automotive grade paint inside, matches my truck perfectly. It looks like it's clear coated as well.

Those eBay lights actually look like trash now compared to these oem now that I have to compare......

To me, worth the money. I couldn't get them to look this good if I painted them myself for sure.

If eBay prices are too high, try Amazon, I just got EIGHT coils for my '05 5.4 delivered for $47.25.
I just checked Amazon for this
Amazon.com: Ford F-150/F150 Black Housing Headlight 11th Gen Head Lamp Light Corner: Automotive Amazon.com: Ford F-150/F150 Black Housing Headlight 11th Gen Head Lamp Light Corner: Automotive

These'll fit my '05, not sure about an '06.

Funny thing is, my 2005 F-150 doesn't have yellowing, my headlights are clear and clean. What've you been doing to an '06?

I check over all of y'all's posts and see everyone's very quick to use eBay, have y'all ever thought of heading over to Amazon?

$200 bought my first car in high school (MASSIVE POS '70 Chevelle), I didn't see it at the time though, I thought it was a great car.

Hell of it is, it was 9 years old and a POS, my F-150's 11 years old and still not a POS (of course, my Chevelle used to be owned by a Marine), and they can be kinda hard on stuff.

That amazon is the same made In china light you get on eBay. It's just black plastic inside, not painted to match. That was the main reason I decided to get the oem harley lights, those other lights look like you put on a pair off cheap lights..... They don't even match!

I had my lamps painted black and clear coated to be identical to the Harley lights. Only give away is the smoked reflectors. On a dark truck, it is definitely worth the time and effort. The black plastic cheap lights look way out of place. The black painted bulb cap is a big deal, gives the distinct black hazed look to the reflector bowl.
