Currently shopping audio and came across this promo on Crutchfield:

Alpine SPS 610C Type-S Component system, $129.99 buy one 50% off the second one.
Has anyone ran components in the back? Will the stock headunit provide enough power?
Driving 08 XLT SCAB w/ base audio system at the moment.
Any insight is appreciated
Cheers

Enough power? Sure, it'll make sound. Worth it? Ehh. Anything is usually better than the stock speakers as far as quality is concerned, but I'm not sure that your ears will be able to tell a marked difference while sitting in the front seat. I'd pass on spending the cash unless you were going to be getting an amp to push all of them. If you don't have a sub, I'd rather invest money in that than I would rear components.
As Sooner suggested, it will be very difficult for you sitting in the front of the truck to detect any benefit from having a component in the back.
Having run components in the front of my trucks for the last 15+ years I can honestly say I was never able to hear the difference having the separate tweeters made. In my 2014 screw? Absolutely - the tweets are mounted on the A pillars and reflect off the windshield.
Probably better off to spend your hard earned cash on something else.

The point is, even with 2 sets of components (front/rear), you aren't going to get any benefit from it from an audio perspective sitting in the front seats. If you have rear seat passengers that will be able to appreciate the components, then still maaaaybe on the purchase. No knock on the Alpine's, but if you are looking to wow people, a $130 set of components probably isn't going to do it. They will be better than stock, for sure. However, you can buy a basic set of Walmart coaxials and still sound better than stock. The best thing you can do with a stock non-audiophile F-150 is add a subwoofer to add the bottom end sound that isn't possible to achieve buy adding components.
