Spark Plug change

I had my mechanic change the spark plugs on my 2005 F150 SuperCrew 4X4 yesterday. I’ve only had the truck for a few weeks and had no idea if the plugs were ever changed. I was a bit concerned considering all the stories I had heard. My mechanic had the extraction tool ready. The truck has about 108,000 miles on it and my mechanic believes the plugs were the originals. He managed to get all eight out without breaking any of them. They were Motorcraft PZT2F and he replaced them with Motorcraft SP-515 (PZH14F). He gave me the originals plug and I can’t find any paint makes as others have indicated may be on the original plugs. I thought that the plugs would look a lot worst then they do so it does make me wonder if they are original.
I could try to post a picture if anyone is interested.

Hey;

PZT1F's or 2F's were originals, depending on the MY.

Did yer mechanic:

1. Use NEW boots & springs?
2. Use dielectric grease properly?
2. Torque them to 25 ft-lbs, DRY?

If not, you need him to revisit the job - it's not complete, IMHO. Hopefully, I'm fussin' aboot nuffin', lol.

Good luck

But - high temp nickel antiseize on the ground shanks.

1. Yes
2. Yes, as far as properly, I guess.
3. Not sure what "Dry" is

DRY = No anti-seize on the sparkplug threads - as this skews the TQ reading, and is unnecessary due to the plug's nickle plating.

FYI - proper dielectric application (yes, it does matter): https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...ml#post5128817

Lastly - glc is kee-rc't - I omitted the obligatory application of nickel a/s on the ground shield ( a very light coating, as it will migrate down and foul the tip if over-applied ).

good luck
