Which axle shaft and part number?

I need help please. I have a 2007 f150 5.4l I am in need of a driver side axle shaft. From what I have researched so far it looks like I have the 9.75 series because I have a 12 bolt cover. When I look for these axles all the pictures show them with 5 lugs. The 8.8 have 6 lugs which is what I have on my truck. Can someone please help explain this to me?

Thank you in advance

I would say the pictures are incorrect. I'm sure you have a 9.75".
Take a look at the tag on the diff cover. It will tell you the ring gear size and gear ratio.

Call Tasca with your VIN, you will get the right part, and it will be the least expensive OEM option. Looks like Dorman has them - 2 different ones depending on your build date, and they are around $200. The pics of those both show 6 lugs.

All 04+ F-150's have 6-lug axles regardless of differential size. The only exception is if you have the HD-package which included 7-lug wheels.

Don't even need to call.

PM me the VIN and I can verify what the truck came with and give prices and part numbers for OEM parts.

Thank you everyone for the replies.

One more quick question please. Is it possible for a machine shop to fix a bent axle shaft?

Tasca PM on the way.

Possible? Sure. Anything can be done with enough time/money. However, it wouldn't be worth it in this case as buying a new one will ensure it meets spec and doesn't have any potential failure points that a reman'd shaft might have. Don't make it complicated, just get the new part.
