I was going to unload some cargo today when I noticed that my tailgate is not centered between my bed rails. It is closer to the driver's side and I noticed some paint worn away where it rubs the bed rail above the taillight. For the past month or two I also noticed that sometimes there is a pop when I lower the tailgate and a lot of resistance on the way down; its due to that EZ lift / spring assist mechanism being worn out. If that is broken, do you think it could cause the tailgate to shift to one side?
