I think the whole thing is made out of rubber, no? That's why I thought it was good. Day star leveling kits are
Polyurethane or some other kind of rubber/plastic.

Db, I just looked at mine and the actual bottom of the tray is just this little rubber thing that's settin in it (peels right up with no adhesive if you get a knife on the edge of it). So I assume this just takes the place of it.
I have one of those in my truck. You do need to remove the OEM tray. The Daystar piece simply fits in its place. There a two little tabs that hold it into the OEM mounting holes.

It installs on top of the original cutout, remove the mounting screw and reinstall it through the panel.
No, but the textured molded floor of it retains most items in place (change, pens and/or metal frame glasses or shades in the front section; cell phones, MP3 players, GPS and plastic frame glasses or shades in the back)
