P2006

I have 2004 xlt f150 extended cab with 91,000 miles on it. About 6 months ago I noticed my gas mileage is bad (around 12-13mpg at all times, is this normal?)
So, i purchased a code reader and took it for a ride and P2006 came up, Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Closed Bank 1.

Is this a common problem? Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you fix it? To my understanding, I need to take my intake off to get at it and replace it?

I tell ya, I hate to say it because I love my truck, but man do I have a lemon!! If it isnt one thing its another!

Thanks

If gas mileage plummets and your driving habits or the weather doesn't change it is never normal. Hit it up with a full out tune up if you haven't already. Clean the MAF sensor with specific MAF cleaner. Is your intake an aftermarket one with a oiled filter?

Have a dealership verify the code and tell you what is needed to repair. If it involves pulling the intake manifold you might want to let them do it.
