After having seen and driven 100s of Nissans of all years and models, I don't care for any of them. Their interiors fall apart and I've not gotten a solid, quality vibe from a single one. I'm not one to be picky over interiors, but even I hate Nissan interiors, even the new ones. I think the Maxima is an excellent looking car, but get inside and . . .
Serious question, no sarcasm: How did the Titan make it to your final two? I unbiasedly think it is and has been the worst full-size truck offering, from nearly every aspect, since it came out.
Nissan also hasn't changed a damn thing on the Titan for 11 years. An 04 looks exactly like a '14. So anyone dumb enough to buy the worst truck available can have fun with their 11 year old new truck that gets horrible gas mileage.

My other choices in the truck market at that time was bland/boring GM truck, reliable, but about as exciting as a Toyota Corolla visually; or a Dodge Ram that had recently gone through some nice changes, but it'd mean buying a Dodge with historical issues with transmissions and overall quality. I hated the look of the Tundra, and wasn't about to put my faith in a new model they introduced in 2007 which had no track record and the worst fuel mileage of all of the trucks (although the highest HP).
You're entitled to your opinion on the interior quality of course, but I still disagree. I have owned several Z-cars, and I typically rent a vehicle for 1-2 weeks every month when traveling for business. I have rented no less than 20 different cars last year alone, everything from Subarus to Chevy SS Camaros, and probably 100 cars over the past 3 years. The interior on the Nissan is as good or better than the rest of the cars in the same class they compete in. The Nissans have a better dash layout and better 0-60 times, Ford typically has more gadgets/features, and GM typically has better seat comfort. Toyota/Hyundai usually fall somewhere in between in most of those areas.

Well this was '08, so the Titan had only been around for 4 years at the time, and looked good from the outside. The truck was more powerful than the F-150, had some features I liked (bed-side tool box, larger retractable rear window, utilitrack bed system, etc). There wasn't a whole lot of negative track-record at that point on the Titan, especially not on the 2WD models I was looking at. However, after test driving a couple of them, I just didn't like the interior quality on the LE at all, especially when the Lariat was so much nicer and priced several-thousand less.

As other have said, no way. Me personally, I would never own or drive anything with a VW nameplate on it. In my eyes they are bargain basement german crap. I would walk before I drove or rode in a vw.
