Well everytime I googled how to install, it talked about finding the wires in the passenger side panel, whereas mine was on the drivers side. Also this kit has the wires for the lights as a standard integrated option, not an optional thing. These have "wider" brackets they claim. The old ones used to go up and down everytime you open and close the door and these have a two second delay to allow you to switch from front to back door ect. Those are a few differences they've told me and I've noticed myself.

Sorry you had problems with the install, I thought they were pretty straight forward and easy.. There was a great video on YouTube of the installation you could have studied also.

Mine are about a year and a half old now.. Just curious, what makes yours a newer kit? What did they change? That they go in the grommet near the seat? I thought they all do, I even have my backup camera wire going through the same grommet.

Hope you get to enjoy them more than I do since I hardly ever use my truck, but i love then non the less..

Yeah I watched the video a few times to get more firmiliar.. Try YouTube.

Cool, sounds like I have the newer version then.. Mine has and does everything you mentioned.. Think it's been that way for couple years at least. Might have to do with a newer controller..

Here, try this..

Edit: These are the older version that don't have the two second delay and LED lights like ours but they mount up and are wired the same.

Thanks for the link. I actually did watch the videos, and I wouldn't say I had "trouble" but more or less just got confused for a split second.

More pictures to come!

You have a really nice looking truck there! Love this model of F150 in white!

The steps just make it all the more better!

Cheers

Good luck man! You shouldn't have much trouble at all. Just remember that the motors go on the rear mount and you should be good to go.

Took me 3.5 hours but I am pretty meticulous and reread the instructions a lot. I hate having to redo anything because I didn't read the directions first. The hardest part was getting to the wire harness and splicing. Other than that, easy pz.

Did your directions say which way the motors went? I read through them multiple times and never could find an explanation. Only until I laid the harness out did I see that the plug for the motors went to the back location.

Vaguely. The picture showed where to mount the motorized unit with an arrow pointing towards the front of the truck. I started with installing the wire harness first , so it was obvious where to put them.
