What are the differences between the 2004-2008 5.4L engines and the 2009 and up? Can you swap an 09 engine from an f250 into an 08 f150? Does a vin code 5 fit where there was a vin code V?

 

The 150 motors are all the same, though they changed to the 6-speed transmission in 2009. Not sure about the 250s, though I imagine they're the same as well.

fwiw, the new 5.0 will bolt up to any 04+ and run fine with the Ford control pack
