New grips

Looking for some new tires, currently looking at cooper discoverer stt. These are some nice m/t tires but I'm having a struggle finding the right size for me. Wanting something a little bigger than what I have now (275/65r18) but not too big. Thinking 325/65/r18 325/60r18 or 305/60r18. Let me know what you think! '06 white F150 lariat chrome edition crew cab short bed truck. It will have a 2.5" level

If I were you I would put the level on first then make your decision. Sure it will look a bit weird with the small tires but would you rather look weird for a week or be unhappy with a $800+ purchase that will last a decent time span. But if you don't want to do that than I agree with dbhost, 305's.

Cooper size chart says 305/60r18's are 32.64. Almost a 33 or could probably get it there with some extra air in them. I think they'll look fine

305/60R18 is a good size with a 2.5" level. If you are in a 4x4 you can go as large as 35x12.50/18 on stock wheels. I do not believe the Coopers have any control arm rubbing. I have heard LOTS about the Mud Grapplers rubbing with stock rims and 12.5" wide tires though...

I have 35x12.50/17 Hercules Trail Digger MTs on my '04 2.5" level with 9" wide aftermarket wheels. I never had a rub problem until I put a heavy duty brush guard and winch up front which pulled my front end down easily 1.5"... I am taking steps to remedy that.

If you were going with a 17" wheel I would actually have suggested you give the Hercules tires a serious look. They aren't super well known, but I am on my 2nd set, first set the fronts were trashed at 32K miles due to bad ball joints. The rears had less than 50% wear on them... I kept the I think it was left rear as a spare, it had 75% tread left... They are no louder than the Coopers, and they perform insanely well both on road, and off.

My stock rims are 18". I want something to feel the wheel wells out nicely when leveled, but 32.6 isn't gonna cut it for my preference. I've been looking now at toyo open country m/t. 285/70r18. Only problem is how heavy they are. One guy claimed hard shifting with them due to weight.

4wd or 2? Aggressive 33s are plenty for a leveled 2wd and look nice, 34" is needed for a leveled 4wd.

They are heavy but they are a very durable excellent tire. I would run them if I ever have 35x12.5s. I got 52,000 miles out of my first set and could have got more if my ball joints held up.

I got to thinking about budget, mileage (tire & mpg), and what I usually drive on. I'm young, so yeah I really wanted mud tires for looks but aren't really practical since I'm 80% pavement. I've made the decision to go with the toyo a/t 2 xtreme. I've seen them on a tundra 1/2 ton go where they're not supposed to. 10 ply will last a long time as well. 295/70r18 is the size I ordered for my truck. Should look nice on a leveled 4x4. I'll post pics when I get them mounted
