Had oil changed at Ford dealer yesterday, they only put in 6 qts instead of the normal 7 required by the engine. had to go back for last quart after checking it at home. should of checked at dealer b-4 leaving. Mngr said mechanic should of known it was 7 qts, but that most v-8's are 6 with filter change,, 5.8 is different.. make sure they give you 7 qts. jop

 

I think you mean 5.4l owners. And wow, was it a ford dealer? If so that's pretty bad they definitely should know better.

whoops,, 5.4 is rite, and yes it was ford dealer. new guy doing oil though.

 

Thats just another reason why I buy my oil at Walmart! I buy the 5-quart jugs & the single quart bottles! Put them on the front passenger seat for the tech to use! I don't use dealer bulk oil for my rides! Mobil-1 or Pennzoil Ultra! 7-quarts for the 5.4 truck, 6-quarts for the 4.6 Crown Vic!
