Tailgate handle plastic keeps breaking

Im not sure where to put this so I just figured Id throw it in here...

Heres the deal. I bought an aftermarket tailgate handle with the camera hole for my 07' a couple years ago. The little curved plastic piece that pops open the tailgate broke. I bought another one this summer and that one just broke this past weekend while on a hunting trip(real convenient).

My question is: Is there an aftermarket handle that is equal quality as the original OEM that wont break that is fairly priced?

Or, do they sell a replacement piece that I can order that are of better qaulity?

Thanks for any help.

I don't know about aftermarket, but why not replace it with an OEM handle, and relocate / use a different camera?

An OEM tailgate handle is over $100 for just the handle.

I think Im going to remove the broken plastic piece and have a buddy mill a piece out of aluminum. He has a shop with all sorts of scrap material. We might even use Delrin. Ill let you guys know how I proceed and what the outcome is.

Thanks

I can do an OEM handle for a lot less than $100, A primed one would run about $63.00 plus shipping and that's before the 5% "f150online" coupon.

Update

I didnt realize the piece that broke was molded together with handle portion, so I couldnt make a new piece.

I ended up buying an OEM standard handle from Tasca on ebay(didnt realize I could call and get a f150online discount). I removed the handle portion from the OEM handle and installed that on the body of mine. Works so far...hopefully it will last.
