Headight Bulb Replacement Question

I wouldn't be surprised if this queston has been asked befor but please, don't get too upset with me! I am looking at replacing my headlight bulbs in the near future. I would love to do the HID conversion but that's more money then I have right now. My stock bulbs are getting dull and it's getting hard to see at night. At times I can barely tell they are on. I want to go to a bulb that is brighter then stock but am not sure what ones to go with. I was thinking about the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra or ZXE but after reading both good and bad reviews I'm just as confused as I was when I started. So, my question is, what are you running and what do you reccomend? Thank you in advance for your help.

Lenses still look crystal clear to me. That was the 1st thing I thought of. The bulbs are about 6 years old now. I'm leaning towards they are just worn out. How do you like the Ultras? Do you feel they are brigheter then the stock ones were?

I know its more money but the piaa bulbs are bright and work great. I have them in my headlights and fogs and hardly ever need my high beams.

I'll put my two cents in and say get GE night hawk platinums. The brightest GE bulb and both sets of mine lasted me two years before I took them out and they were still going.

Not sure if you've gone with anything yet, but PIAA makes a good bulb. Look for the Xtreme Whites. I've used them in all of my vehicles and they perform very well.

Thank you all for your input. You've answered a lot of questions for me. Still debating between a couple. I'll let you know what I decide. If I remember I'll try to get before and after pics as well.

I installed the PIAA bulbs in my 06 FX4 both the headlights and fog lights and they are brightest I could find.

PIAA H10 65 Watt Xtreme White Fog Light Bulbs
PIAA H13 85 Watt Xtreme White Headlight Bulbs

You will pay more but well worth it.
